OXFORD Teacher Training
Oxford University Press in cooperation with ASTA Ilmu Sukses successfully conducted a teacher training and workshop at Karibia Boutique Hotel Medan on 3rd of October, 2015. The purpose of that training and workshop was to provide English teachers from Medan and out of town with new teaching techniques and methods. There were two excellent presenters who delivered ‘The Magic of Reading’, ‘Technology in The Young Learners Classroom’, and ‘The Impact of The Latest Discoveries in Neuroscience on Our Teaching Practice’ in it. They were Sadie Maddocks (Educational Services Manager, Oxford University Press) and Steven Money (OUP). It was a great chance for LIA Medan teachers and other school teachers around Medan. Joining the training and workshop presented by Sadie was such a gainful occasion for all LIA teachers since we got a lot of new techniques on how to teach reading with fun and enjoyable atmosphere in class. We also got some new online and offline applications that can be used as media to teach reading presented by Steven. Surprisingly, in the end of the workshop, some of LIA Medan teachers also got some gifts as theinames were chosen to win the lucky draw. How lucky we were. (Jonris Tampubolon)
